We will now be offering Covid19 Boosters in line with the new HSE Spring Booster Vaccination Programme. Vaccines will be given in the Practice by appointment only, vaccines will only be given to patients that meet eligibility criteria.
A spring COVID-19 booster vaccine is recommended for:
- those aged 70 years and older.
- those living in long term care facilities for older adults*.
- those aged 5 years and older with immunocompromise associated with a suboptimal response
to vaccination**.
*Patients in long term care facilities will be vaccinated by the HSE Mobile Vaccine Teams, clinical staff of Imokilly Medical Centre will not be in a position to travel to care facilities to vaccinate.
**Please note that Imokilly Medical Centre will only vaccinating patients aged 12 and over as per HSE guidelines, children aged 5-12 will be vaccinated in HSE vaccination centres only.
Patients aged over 50 must be 6months from their last vaccination, patients aged under 50 must be 9months from their last vaccine.
If you have been vaccinated within the past 6months you do not need a Spring Booster – you must be a minimum of 6months since you were last vaccinated. We will require proof of last vaccination. If you are aged under 50 – you must be 9months from your last vaccine.
